Just last week, the biggest fundraising event for TLU Athletics was once again a success for what was the 20th anniversary of Front Row. What makes Front Row special is the TLU community welcoming back its most prestigious alumnus in the great Verne Lundquist.

Verne is an award-winning and Hall of Fame sports broadcaster who is most famous for his calls at The Master’s, NFL Sunday’s, and both College Football and Basketball games. Lundquist has been at it for a long time and has become one of the most recognized voices on sports television. With that being said, Verne is making his final call at the 2024 Master’s this weekend in what will be a story book ending to an incredible career.
To take the stage with Verne at Front Row last weekend was none other than his longtime friend, former legendary quarterback of the Pittsburg Steelers, and now TV personality, Terry Bradshaw.

Throughout his 14 year Hall of Fame career, Bradshaw won 4 Super Bowls and took home 2 Super Bowl MVP’s, while throwing for almost 28,000 yards and over 200 touchdowns. As amazing as he was on the field, his career off the field since retirement has been just as impressive. Bradshaw is one of the top media personalities in sports with his contagious energy and constant joke telling, that has led him to being a part of the NFL’s most popular pre-game show with FOX NFL Sunday.
Both Verne and Terry headlined the event with an hour of telling some of their best stories working together, the bond they have made, and what this event means to the TLU community.

It was an honor to be able to attend this event in person, as I was chosen to speak about my journey here at TLU to over 300 TLU alumni and supporters that care a whole lot about this great university.
My bit was good, but Verne and Terry’s was even better.
After the event had wrapped up, I gained a whole new sense of deep gratitude and joy for being able to play sports at the college level at a school with an alumni base that invests back into athletics.
With all that being said, the generosity from those that came before us at TLU are a big reason why we are able to go on those long road trips, get those new jerseys, and so much more. Events like Front Row single-handedly give back to the over 40% of student-athletes that we have on campus in order to maximize our experience as players throughout our four years of playing.
