Halloween Costume Inspiration ðŸ‘»

BOO!!

Did I scare you?

…probably not but want to hear something actually scary?

It is already October 20th, we are almost done with October, can you believe how fast time goes? No, but seriously we just started this month….. where did the time go?? Next weekend is Halloween ALREADY.

I am sure you’ve been struck with the thoughts of what am I going to wear? I haven’t even gone shopping yet? Is Spirit still open? I bet all the good costumes are taken already?? How can I find the time to plan something?? WHAT AM I GOING TO WEAR??

Well, before you get your pumpkins in a twist, I’ve got you. I know holiday seasons can be stressful, trying to balance the responsibilities of life alongside the fun activities the holiday seasons can bring. But I am here to help relieve some of those deciding anxieties.

First things first. Halloween is a day out of the year you can hang up your everyday mask and step into whoever or whatever you want to be. A day of no rules, a day where the world truly is your oyster. Dont let the pressures of society take the fun out of this day.

Secondly, channel your inner creative….yes, YOU. What excites you? What makes you feel confident? Take the time to listen to your heart and the desires you want to fill and let it explode out of you.

Thirdly, do what makes you comfortable. Some people like dressing up more sexy, funny, scary or even all three together and that is okay. How you experience Halloween is going to be different than your family member, friend or neighbor so don’t dress for how you may be perceived but of what makes you comfortable and confident.

Lastly, remember this day is supposed to be fun, don’t overthink it, just do it (#NotSponsoredByNike).

I would also like to add that yes, Halloween should be fun with dressing up but we should still remain mindful that cultures that are not ours are not costumes (list of no-no’s down below). And that some do not celebrate this day because of personal, religious, cultural etc. reasons and we as a community should respect those decisions.

  • Indigenous costumes
  • Blackface
  • Dia de los muertos
  • Geisha
  • Middle eastern
  • Egyptian/gypsy
